East Rombo Fantasy Playoffs

It's the time of the year when the best of the best are tested. Only one true champion will emerge from the East Rombo Yahoo! NBA Fantasy League.

The top 6 this year is quite interesting.

Let's have a look-see, shall we? From the top down, here's our final six:
  • First we have Jase, the defending champion. He was the run-away winner from last year's competition and is currently the favorite this year with his sizeable lead ahead of everyone else. He's pretty much dominated through most of the year.
  • Next is Alvin. While he is rarely underestimated, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that we didn't anticipate how much of a powerhouse Alvin's team was going to be. An all-around threat in head-to-head battles, anyone standing in his way won't be having a very fun time.
  • In third place is yours truly, one of two NBA fantasy league rookies. While I was gifted with the first overall pick in our draft, I never anticipated that I'd be this high up in the standings. The beginning of the year had me at the bottom half of the standings, usually floating around 5 or 6. A sudden surge in the last several weeks has had me locked in at 3rd.
  • At fourth is another surprise - Du. He slammed through the competition at the beginning of the year but lost momentum midway and fell out of contention for a while. The past several weeks has also given him a big run and he has managed to roll right into fourth place.
  • At fifth place we find G. He was one of the better teams from the get-go, but after clinging on to inactive stars, Maggette and Amare, he fell down a few notches. Maggete's return has given him some much-needed help, but Amare's fall has once again put him in a questionable position.
  • Finally, we have Eumir. Somewhat of a tragedy, this one. Injuries have plagued his players in the latter part of the season. From a mighty top 3 rank, he had to claw his way back into the playoffs. While his injury problems haven't completely gone away, he might very well come back with a vengeance.
Can Jase, with Lebron and company, come through with another dominating finish?
Can Alvin continue his excellent all-around Fantasy play to de-throne the mighty Whomping Willows?
Can Bit make East Rombo history and become the first rookie (after the first season of course) to win it all?
Can Du regain the glory of his team from earlier in the season?
Can G fight back from his recent injury-plagued weeks?
Can Eumir not take this fantasy league too seriously and do some actual work at his office?

So many questions. And they'll be answered within the next two weeks. Let's bring it on.

Comments

find out next season when eumir shuts the hell up and not 'consult' with bit for future free agent pickups(*cough* josh smith *cough*). hehe

and will the time machine theory be proven?

if du wins this, the only explanation is he used a time machine to check the future and see who the best draft picks are. he also picked the 'best' draft picks that will be injured, so as to make his picks not that suspicious.

actually i think gerald also has a time machine. EVERY trade he made only benefitted him. chris paul - drew gooden? what about steve francis jrich trade with joe-poy? tsk tsk.

fantasy nba.
it's FANTASTIC!
