Game One Done

With all of the opening games of the 2007 NBA Playoffs already settled, this entry comes a little late (but I'm posting it anyway). Here are my favorites to hopefully take the first round:

- Eastern Conference -
  • Orlando Magic (8) vs Detroit Pistons (1) - Orlando
  • Washington Wizards (7) vs Cleveland Cavaliers (2) - Cleveland
  • New Jersey Nets (6) vs Toronto Raptors (3) - Toronto
  • Chicago Bulls (5) vs Miami Heat (4) - Chicago
My only concrete pick for the East is Chicago, since I don't want the Heat to repeat (because if that happens, it can only mean that the Suns obviously didn't make it to the top...). Orlando is cool by virtue of having D-Ho alone, while the same may be said of Cleveland with King James. I'm pretty torn about that Jersey-Toronto series, but I'd really like to see Chris Bosh prove that he can lead his team further.

- Western Conference -
  • Golden State Warriors (8) vs Dallas Mavericks (1) - Golden State
  • LA Lakers (7) vs Phoenix Suns (2) - Phoenix
  • Denver Nuggets (6) vs San Antonio Spurs (3) - Denver
  • Houston Rockets (5) vs Utah Jazz (4) - Houston
The West is pretty easy. Of course, since I'm picking the Suns to win it all, I'm hoping for the "lesser evils" (i.e. Golden State and Denver) to win their respective series. I'm quite indifferent about the Houston-Utah matchup, but I seem to like the Rockets better at this point (sorry, G).

This is it, for now.

Go Suns! Eyes on the prize!
